Channels
Channels are basically user groups with a unique identifier. Link reports to channels, to define which user of your organization has access to which report.
TIP
Channels are only necessary if you want to subgroup users of your organization. Say, if you crowd-source your report moderation. For normal use-cases of UGC Guard channels are not necessary.
General truths
- Admins of organizations can see all reports, even if they are not member of any channel.
- Reports without any channel are displayed to every user of your organization.
- A report with at least one channel is displayed if
- the user is part of at least one of its channels
- the user is an admin
Setup of channels
Go to the dashboard, select modules, then choose channels.

Only admins can setup and manage channels.
- Create a new channel by giving it a name and description.
- Save and open the edit modal again.
- Switch to the tab users.
- Add the users of your organization that you want to add to this channel.
- Save again.
Linking reports to channels
Reports can be linked to channels during their submission. See the client documentation for more information on this.
Members and admins can also change the channels of a report on its page.
